Industrial Pretreatment Program Specialist I:
Industrial Pretreatment Program Specialist II:Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering or directed related field and two years’ experience with pretreatment/industrial waste programs including permitting, inspections, and enforcement. Experience identifying, evaluating, interpreting, and explaining environmental laws, rules and regulations applicable to implementation of pretreatment/industrial waste programs. Demonstrated ability meeting deadlines, planning, and coordinating work, and writing accurate reports. Highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite products including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience working in databases. Strong mathematical and data analysis skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with people of varying backgrounds, knowledge, and experience.
Equivalency equals two years of directly related professional experience for every year of education not completed. The stated experience requirement is in addition to any experience used to meet the education equivalency.
Strong knowledge of Industrial Pretreatment Program implementation procedures, including categorical Pretreatment Standards. Knowledge of industrial manufacturing practices, wastewater treatment, and regulatory control. Familiarity with hazardous waste identification, storage, labeling, and disposal. Experience inspecting a wide variety of complex industrial manufacturing facilities.
