Water Treatment Plant Operator
Centennial Water and Sanitation District is seeking a motivated individual to fill a Water Treatment Plant Operator position. Applicants must have a positive attitude and have the desire to work in a strong team environment.
Duties include performing a variety of tasks, skilled and semi-skilled necessary to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the water treatment facility. The Operator will monitor the performance of all equipment associated with the treatment process by conducting routine visual inspections, interpreting instrument readings, and performing and interpreting lab results. The operator will also manage tank levels and pumps to distribute water to the community.
At a minimum, applicants must have passed their “D” Water exam or be able to obtain a “D” Water certification within 6 months of being hired. A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required and a bachelor’s degree in biology, microbiology or an engineering science is preferred. Applicants must have a strong understanding of chemistry, biology, hydraulics, mechanical, and electronic concepts as they relate to water and wastewater treatment. A valid Colorado driver’s license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record is also required for this position.
Minimum starting pay range is $25.22 - $36.80. Compensation is based upon experience and licensure.
