The Water Pollution Control Manager plans, organizes, administers, and directs the Water Pollution Control Division of the Public Works Services Department in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This individual will receive general direction from the Public Works Services Director and will oversee the contract operation and maintenance services provided by the City to the East Bay Dischargers Authority. In addition, the selected individual will work collaboratively with both internal and external staff/stakeholders, and be responsible for the safe, efficient, cost-effective operation of the Wastewater Plant, laboratory, lift stations, collection system and related facilities.
The ideal candidate will have at least five years of progressively responsible experience in the management of a wastewater treatment facility of similar size and complexity as well as a minimum of three years supervisory experience. The individual must possess an Associate of Arts degree with major course work in business administration, biological science, or a closely related field. A Bachelor’s degree is highly desired. At the time of appointment, the candidate must possess and maintain a valid Grade IV or Grade V California Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator’s Certificate. The salary range for this position is $138,396 - $168,228 annually, DOQ.
