With nine water resource recovery facilities and more than 350 miles of pipe, we serve a broad geographic area, including Greenville County and portions of Anderson, Laurens, Pickens and Spartanburg Counties. Each day an estimated 42 million gallons of water passes through our trunk lines and reclamation facilities before being cleaned and returned to our area rivers and streams. 

Job Summary- Project Managers

Positions exist for both ReWa’s Capital Program project management and ReWa’s Wet Weather infiltration/inflow removal Program Management. Wet Weather PMs should have extensive experience in infiltration/inflow field investigation techniques, flow meter data analysis and review of I/I studies, detailed knowledge of I/I removal technologies and design/construction management experience of such improvement projects.

The tasks listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this position.  Management may assign additional tasks related to the type of work of the position as necessary.

• Candidates should have the ability to perform professional engineering work in the planning and design of in-house engineering projects as well as design/construction management of both in-house and outside consulting engineering efforts as needed for wastewater treatment and/or collection/conveyance facility improvements. 

• Coordinates and reviews plans and specifications developed by in house design or consulting engineers for accuracy and completeness and to ensure compliance with related regulations and standards.  

• Assists with regulatory permitting process by preparing and submitting permit application packages to applicable regulating authority for construction and operations, as well as interact with S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control, Greenville County, SC Highway Department, railroads, and other utilities and governmental agencies relative to permits, construction standards and rights of way required for the Department’s projects.  

• Coordinates and reviews title search information to obtain project right of way and property purchases and negotiate rights-of-way purchases if necessary.  

• Prepares maps and visual aids, draft ownership and service agreements, prepare/review preliminary engineering reports and meet with potential customers and stakeholders to discuss relative matters.  

• Prepares and/or reviews cost estimates for sewer infrastructure projects, maintains status of projects by populating project milestones, daily logs, and communications in the Project Management System database and participate in the planning of the future wastewater facilities associated with the development and implementation of the ReWa capital improvements plan.

Basic Requirements

• Requires an accredited bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or closely related field.

• Must possess a valid South Carolina state driver’s license.

• Must possess a Professional Engineer registration in the state of South Carolina or the ability to obtain such through reciprocity within six (6) months of employment.

• Knowledge of operational characteristics, services and activities of a sanitary engineering program; and possess a minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible project management engineering experience of increasing complexity. Extensive supervisory or managerial experience considered a plus. Candidates will meet with public, governmental councils and commissions regarding future and/or planned sewer infrastructure projects.

• Possess contract administration experience with principles and practices of complex program and project management.  

Pay Range- $68,000- $101,000- depending on experience
