The Metropolitan Council’s Environmental Services Division (MCES) operates and maintains the wastewater collection and treatment system in the Twin Cities metropolitan region.  It also provides coordinated long-range water resources and supply planning, air, and water quality monitoring to meet future needs. In this role of Environmental Scientist (Hydrologist), you will primarily focus on monitoring stream flow in tributary rivers/streams and continuous water quality in large rivers (Minnesota R. and Mississippi R.). You will also regularly assist with other Council monitoring programs including lake water quality monitoring and groundwater monitoring at some of our facilities. In addition to the database work with the streamflow and continuous water quality data, you will have the opportunity to expand your knowledge in our database tools like WISKI and Survey123 by assisting with database management projects.  This position will require travel to various Council work sites, monitoring sites, and facilities.

Salary Range:  $65,125 -$98,301 Annually


Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in one or a combination of the following: Hydrology, Environmental Sciences/Studies, or a Water Resources related degree.  Must have a driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
