Engineering Manager
The Little Blue Valley Sewer District (LBVSD) is seeking an Engineering Manager. LBVSD, a public agency created in 1968, operates two wastewater treatment facilities in Jackson and Cass counties in western Missouri with offices located in Independence. The district serves a growing region in the eastern and southeastern Kansas City metropolitan area with a combined treatment capacity of 54 MGD encompassing approximately 278 square miles of land area and has a reputation for environmental excellence.
Anchored within the District's confines are the Cities of Belton, Blue Springs, Grandview, Independence, Kansas City, Lake Tapawingo, Lee's Summit, Raymore, Raytown, and Sugar Creek, and the Fort Osage School District, and one federal installation - the Lake City Army Ammunition facility. Middle Big Creek, a subdistrict of LBVSD located in Pleasant Hill, MO, is a separate geographic watershed area serving parts of northern Cass County and southern Jackson County.
LBVSD is seeking a capable leader to oversee, manage and support engineering and IT, manage capital projects, optimize technology, administer contracts and designs, and implement renewal and replacement projects.
The salary for this position will range from $104,645 to $162,199, depending upon experience and qualifications. LBVSD offers a comprehensive benefits package, which includes paid vacation, paid sick leave, 15 paid holidays, medical, dental at no cost to the employee, vision at no cost to employee & dependents, life insurance, and short- and long-term disability, also at no cost to the employee. The position is also provided tuition reimbursement and other pension/retirement benefits. This is a salaried exempt position and has the potential for occasional work from home.
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in construction management, engineering, or a related field and a minimum of five (5) years of experience in engineering, project management, construction management, or related field. Experience in the field of wastewater treatment and conveyance preferred. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered. Preference will be granted to individuals holding a Missouri Professional Engineering License (P.E.) and/or master’s degree in a relevant field.
