Assistant General Manager – Water

The City of Glendale spans approximately 30.6 square miles with a population of about 203,054. Glendale Water & Power (GWP) is a municipal utility that serves over 34,000 water and 90,000 electric customers. Reporting to the General Manager, the Assistant General Manager – Water Services (AGM) manages the Water Services Division comprised of 60 FTEs, a $60 million operating budget, and a $12 million CIP budget for FY 2023-24. 

GWP seeks an experienced water industry professional to be a collaborative partner to the leadership team. Knowledge of water issues, water utility trends, and best practices, as well as superior project management skills plus a history of delivering projects on time and within budget, is critical to success in this role.

Competitive candidates will offer eight years of progressively responsible professional engineering experience, including four years in a managerial capacity in a water utility system. A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field and registration as a Professional Civil Engineer with the State of California is required.
