Facility Maintenance Coordinator

Seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Facility Maintenance Coordinator to join our Team. This position is responsible for managing and improving the quality of OWASA’s facilities, management of buildings and building systems, site maintenance, security systems, site access, and grounds.


Key responsibilities:

· Oversees the management of heating, ventilation, and cooling (HVAC) systems, fire suppression and

monitoring systems; pest control; facility custodial contract services; and grounds maintenance.

· Supports site security/access used by employees and all contractors.

· Responsible for managing all building repairs and improvements including, but not limited to, interior and exterior painting, roofing system, carpet, tile, safety improvements, plumbing, elevator systems, boiler systems, and electrical needs.

· Assists Capital Improvements team with developing and supporting capital improvement projects to install new facilities and rehabilitate and improve our current facilities.

· Assists Asset Management team by supporting building infrastructure, and building systems condition assessments and identifying facility renewal needs.

· Oversees all operation and maintenance contract procurement and management requirements for developing proposals, soliciting, and evaluating contractors, awarding contracts, providing project oversight, reviewing invoices, processing payments, and monitoring the progress of contracted services through inspections and periodic evaluations.

· Performs other related duties as required or assigned.


Successful candidate should have:

· Requires an Associate degree in a relevant field of study. Minimum of five years’ experience in facility and equipment maintenance with three years’ experience performing managerial functions or project management, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Ability to fulfill the mission and goals of OWASA while ensuring that safe work practices are followed.

· Salary Range is $70,507 - $105,760

· Membership in the NC Local Government Employee Retirement System
