The National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA) engages on the federal legislative, regulatory, legal, and communications fronts to advance policies that enable public clean water utilities to provide affordable and sustainable clean water for all communities. Our vision is to represent every utility as a NACWA member, helping build a strong and sustainable clean water future.  

We are searching for an individual to assist with all aspects of member services, primarily focused on membership data research, analytics and management, and engagement tracking. They will handle membership inquiries both internal and external via phone, email, or in person as well as research and management of membership prospect lists. 

The role involves managing membership inquiries, database updates, and coordinating onboarding processes for new members. 

Job Description: 

The Membership Assistant will support membership data accuracy and development and retention efforts, maintain accurate membership records, and support event and meeting logistics.

This position requires a self-motivated, resourceful individual with strong research and computer skills. An exceptionally high level of accuracy, and meticulous attention to detail is needed to maintain and update constituent records using NetForum/Community Brands database software. The Membership Assistant works closely with the Sr. Director of Membership Development and Retention, the Sr. Manager of Membership and the Database Manager to help ensure that information entered in the database is accurate and consistent. 

Primary duties include data entry, research, and assisting with the day-to-day functions of the Membership.

 Desirable Knowledge & Skills: 

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 1 year of work experience in a professional office environment.
  • Advanced skills and fluency in MS Office applications – particularly Excel.  
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of working closely with cross-functional teams or independently on multiple projects. 
  • Enhanced customer service and research skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines, providing regular updates and progress reports to internal teams. 

More About the Position & NACWA 

The hourly salary range for this position is $25-$30/hour - commensurate with experience.  This is a part-time position, not eligible for benefits. This position may grow into a full-time, long-term opportunity but NACWA makes no guarantee of regular, full-time employment. No out-of-town, overnight travel is required for this position. This position is eligible for hybrid telecommuting. NACWA employees are required to be in the office every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, but it may occasionally be necessary to be in office more. Mondays and Fridays are remote workdays.
