Position Summary:

Reporting to the Executive Director and the Chief Finance Officer (CFO), you’ll be the driving force behind our award-winning Finance Division. As a key member of our Executive Leadership Team, you’ll help shape the future of our organization, ensuring we operate efficiently and sustainably. Your dynamic and motivational leadership will be crucial in maintaining our financial health and supporting our green initiatives, inspiring your team to achieve excellence and innovation.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Budgeting & Planning: Develop and manage NBC’s Annual Operating Budget, five-year Capital Improvement Program, and five-year Operating Capital Program.
  • Policy Making: Establish policies for budgeting, cash management, debt issuance, rate setting, and financial record keeping, all while adhering to best practices and legal standards.
  • Debt Management: Oversee all aspects of debt issuance, including determining the amount, timing, and structure of new issues, and identifying refunding opportunities.
  • Credit Ratings: Serve as our primary liaison with credit rating agencies, working to maintain and improve our ratings.
  • Internal Controls: Ensure the integrity of our financial reporting and compliance with all relevant standards and regulations.
  • Audits & Compliance: Lead the completion of various audits and ensure compliance with all financial regulations.
  • Financial Planning: Conduct long-term financial modeling and planning to support our sustainability goals.
  • Rate Cases: Prepare and administer rate cases, serving as an expert witness when needed.
  • Investment Management: Oversee our investment relationships and retirement plans, ensuring compliance and smart investment strategies.
  • Customer Service: Provide direction to our Customer Service team, ensuring timely and accurate billing and collections.
  • Renewable Energy: Support our renewable energy programs, including tracking Net Metering Credits and selling Renewable Energy Credits.
  • Risk Management: Oversee our risk management functions and ensure compliance with all relevant covenants and agreements.

 

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience: Ten or more years of financial management experience in a similar setting.
  • Education: A four-year degree in finance, economics, or a related field, plus a master’s degree in business administration.
  • Skills: Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills. Proficiency in MS Office and enterprise financial software.
  • Leadership: Ability to manage multiple projects, work independently, and lead a team of approximately 55 employees.

Salary Range: $130,000-$150,000
