Plant Electrician

We are seeking a Plant Electrician in the Plant Maintenance department. The Plant Maintenance department is essential in supporting Loudoun Water’s Water, Wastewater, and Remote Facilities throughout Loudoun County. Plant Electricians will be responsible for ensuring that the electric infrastructure is operational and meets all specifications and customer requirements. 

Essential functions include:

• Installation, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electrical equipment in accordance with standard practices of the electrical trade.  

• Installing, maintaining, and repairing and replacing of both high and low voltage electric distribution equipment and electric systems and equipment. Includes but is not limited to transformers, electrical panels, circuit breakers, switch gears, motors, transfer switches (manual and automatic), emergency generators (50 kW up to 2MW), interior and exterior light fixtures, and other electrical equipment. 

• Performing the special work required for high voltage electric equipment and controls 

• Troubleshooting electric and electronic systems and equipment found in large water, water reclamation facilities, pumping systems.

• Inspect and conduct preventative maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.

• Install new electrical panels, conduit, wire, and electrical connections for process mechanical machinery. 

Requirements: Five years experience, with a minimum of four years in electrical equipment maintenance and troubleshooting and two years experience as a Journeyman Electrician to include high voltage work preferred. Training in the following specialized subject areas required: electrical theory, electric controls, analogue and digital electronics and the operation and maintenance of electrical equipment.
