Annual salary range: $180,000 to $230,000

Located in the California Delta just east of the San Francisco Bay Area, the Diablo Water District provides high quality water for residents and businesses in a 21-square mile for about 36,000 people, parks, schools and businesses. The District is supported by 17 full time employees and a FY18-19 budget of $11.6 million.
The ideal candidate is a highly ethical and pragmatic leader, who possesses solid management, financial, engineering, and water operations skills. The General Manager provides reasoned and sound recommendations for the Board’s consideration and strategic leadership, focus, and direction in support of the Board and staff. The General Manager must possess outstanding listening and communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills. The General Manager will team with the Board and staff in providing open, responsive and customer-oriented service and be expected to maintain cooperative working relationships with other agencies in the region and the other governing bodies within the District. Experience working with planning/land use and community development will be looked upon favorably in this growing community.
A Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five (5) years supervisory experience in a related field that includes three (3) years in the public sector/local government is expected. Civil Engineer registered in California desirable. Or, any combination of education and experience which would likely provide the necessary knowledge and abilities.
