Plans, directs, coordinates and supervises a staff of lower level technicians engaged in the performance of complex inspectional, investigational and enforcement activities to ensure compliance with environmental laws, rules and regulations; and performs other related duties as required.
The immediate vacancy is with the Department of Environmental Services, Environmental Quality Division. This position is responsible for planning and supervising field inspections, investigations, and surveys concerning pretreatment, industrial source control, and hauled waste management programs, and assisting in the research, investigation, and preparation of necessary enforcement actions.

|Minimum Qualification Requirements:|
Equivalent to graduation from high school. Responsible work experience which demonstrated the ability to perform the essential functions of the job may be substituted for education.
Substitution: An associate's degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering Technology or Natural Sciences and/or a bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Engineering, or in a Biological or Physical Science will substitute for two years of technical field experience which involved inspectional and/or investigational work relating to the enforcement of laws, ordinances, and/or rules and regulations. There is NO substitution for the three years of technical field experience specific to the enforcement of water quality standards, or for one year of work experience at the next lower level.
