Your Opportunity

Stantec's Water business has an immediate opportunity in Sunrise office in Broward County for a highly motivated Planner with Water and Wastewater experience.  The ideal candidate will have experience with water-supply-planning documents and water treatment planning.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all planning projects
  • Oversee a team to perform water demand and customer projections
  • Perform hydraulic modeling to include model development, perform calibration and analysis of water system.
  • Understand water treatment processes
  • Understanding of local Broward County, state and federal regulations pertaining to water supply and quality
  • Prepare reports, and perform client presentations
  • Partner with GIS team
  • Perform condition assessments
  • Perform risk analysis for renewal projects
  • Provide input to support capital improvement plans and asset management
  • Ability to work on and oversee water design projects
  • Communicate effectively by listening and providing constructive feedback

  • Ability to mentor and grow a team of engineers in the planning arena
  • Strong interpersonal skills including strong verbal and written communication and keen listening abilities

  • Proven project management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team as well as independently
  • Continuing education and professional development including keeping current on new technology and current trends
  • Demonstrated competency in water/wastewater system evaluations or equivalent water/wastewater system design experience
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, both internal and external
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Education and Experience

BA/BS degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering, Urban Planning, or a related field (Masters degree preferred).

Licensed Professional Engineer a plus but not required. 

Minimum of 8 years of experience.

Typical office environment working with computers and sitting at a desk. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
